Nia Rock

Nia Rock is a seasoned banking executive with over 25 years of leadership in regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and community and economic development. She is recognized for her expertise in the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), affordable housing, and fair and responsible lending practices, with a proven record of advancing inclusive finance and building transparent, resilient systems that promote equitable economic growth.
Nia has held senior CRA compliance and community development roles at leading financial institutions in the New York metropolitan region and served as a Community Affairs Specialist with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), where she advanced economic inclusion initiatives across New England. She has spearheaded programs that expand affordable housing, strengthen small businesses, and increase credit access for underserved communities. Her leadership has been instrumental in securing New Markets Tax Credits, Social Impact Bond investments, and pioneering initiatives such as New York’s first Banking Development Districts (BDD) and nationally recognized Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) programs, serving thousands of low- and moderate-income households.
Beyond banking, Nia has deeply engaged in nonprofit governance, serving in executive, board, and committee roles with organizations advancing affordable housing, small business equity, youth workforce development, and environmental justice. She’s also advised philanthropy collaboratives and academic institutions, bridging policy, practice, and investment to strengthen community impact.
Nia holds an MBA in Sustainability with a concentration in Impact Finance and a BA in Economics, both from Bard College. She is also certified as an Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) Finance Professional with the Governance & Accountability Institute of New York and trained in commercial real estate valuation and tax credit investment analysis with the NYU SPS Schack Institute of Real Estate and NeighborWorks America.
