NYMC and 7 LI Nonprofits Receive $170K in Bank of America Grants

On Sunday, October 5, 2014, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation announced $170,500 in grants to eight Long Island housing and financial education nonprofits, including the New York Mortgage Coalition and members Community Development Corporation of Long Island and Long Island Housing Partnership.

The New York Mortgage Coalition is receiving funding for homeownership counseling services which include pre-purchase counseling, post-purchase counseling, financial literacy counseling, credit repair workshops, and foreclosure prevention counseling.

“Bank of America has been a longstanding supporter of the New York Mortgage Coalition and remains one of our most valued partners in the area of affordable homeownership,” said Ken Inadomi, executive director, New York Mortgage Coalition. “The Bank’s commitment to creating and sustaining safe, vibrant, and affordable neighborhoods is second to none. We at NYMC are most grateful for Bank of America’s ongoing support and look forward to building on our partnership.”

Other organizations receiving funding include Debt Counseling Corp., Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk, Housing Help, Inc., Long Island Coalition for the Homeless, and Wyandanch Homes and Property Development Corporation.
